Built by Burlingame Families, for Burlingame Kids
Fall soccer with the AYSO is all about kids having fun, staying active, and being part of our shared Burlingame community. We keep things simple, welcoming, and low-pressure—because we believe every kid should get to play, grow, and love the game, no matter their experience or skill level.
AYSO soccer in Burlingame is a 100% volunteer-run program, created by Burlingame parents like you, who care deeply about providing a positive, healthy, and development-focused experience for every child. Our coaches are trained to support players with encouragement and age-appropriate instruction—not pressure. Teams are balanced to ensure fairness, inclusion, and lots of touches on the ball for every player.
More than just a soccer league, the Burlingame AYSO is a chance for kids to build confidence, make friends, and discover the joy of team sports in a safe, supportive environment. And for parents who want to get involved—whether by coaching, refereeing, or helping behind the scenes—it’s a rewarding way to connect with your child’s journey and contribute to something meaningful to them and to our community.
If you’re looking for a joyful, low-stress way for your child to spend their Saturdays, come and join us! Registration is open now—we’d love to welcome your whole family to the field!
Eligible Age Groups
All players born between 2022 and 2007. (For our 4U program, players must turn 3 by September 13th, 2025.)
Players are assigned to divisions based on birth year, not grade or school.
Don't worry - the registration system will place your player in the correct division.
Registration Fees
By far the best soccer value around! For most divisions, 5U-19U (kids born from 2007-2021):
Early Bird | now through April 30th | $230 | $320 |
Regular | May 1st - June 15th | $280 | $370 |
(*The city requires us to collect an extra $90/player from non-residents, despite the fact that we love them every bit as much as our Burlingame-based players.)
The 4U division (kids born in 2022) has different pricing:
$150 for Burlingame residents, $240 for non-residents, no early bird discount.
Financial assistance is available, and no player will be excluded from AYSO soccer due to insufficient funds. Please email [email protected] to apply.
Volunteer Participation
The AYSO runs on volunteers—parents like you, parents like us ... we're what makes it so special! When you step up as a coach or referee, you're not just helping make the season possible—you’re becoming part of your child’s experience in a truly meaningful way. No prior experience is needed—we provide all the training and support you’ll need. Whether you're on the sidelines guiding a team or on the field helping keep the game flowing, your presence makes a difference for every kid out there. Volunteering is rewarding, fun, and a great way to connect with the Burlingame community.
All 10U teams require referee points to advance to the Burlingame Cup. In addition, players who wish to participate in other post-season tournaments will be required to have parent-referees to help at the tournaments.

Registration Priority
- Children of coaches/referees/volunteers/field liners have priority; first come, first serve otherwise.
- Divisions do fill up, so please register today if you want your child to be able to participate.
Waitlists
- No payment is due if your player is put on the waitlist
- You will receive an email when your player is removed from the waitlist at which time you will need to return to your account to pay.
- We will have a waitlist until we have enough coaches to assign all registered players to a team. Please volunteer! No experience is necessary and we provide training.
Team Assignments, Practices & Games
Team assignments will be made after registration closes on June 30th and we have confirmed that we have enough coaches to create teams. We expect to release rosters in mid-July but we can't finalize any team until all teams are finalized, and we can't finalize teams until we have enough coaches to assign all players to teams.
If we are approaching the first week of practices without enough coaches, players that registered last will not be assigned to teams. Players with parents volunteering as coaches or board members will always have a spot on a team.
4U - 6U teams have one hybrid practice/scrimmage session on Saturdays at Washington Park
7U - 19U teams practice once a week with one match per week (*except for the 10U-14U double header weekend)
Practice times and field locations are based on coach and field availability.
Team assignments are final. A coach cannot change a player's team assignment and cannot add players to any team. (Violation of this rule will result in immediate removal from any involvement in our soccer program.) We reserve the right to adjust teams to maintain team balance.
Team assignments are not based upon school schedules, carpool needs, or any criteria other than achieving balanced teams.
Practice and Game Attendance
One of the core philosophies of AYSO is "balanced teams." We balance teams at the beginning of the season to promote fun play for all. If there are players on the team that have other commitments and don't show up very often, this creates a negative experience for the team, and ultimately for the opposing team. Not having a full roster on game day can lead to unbalanced teams and often leads to teams not having enough players to field a full team, or no subs on a hot day. If your player does not expect to attend many games, please consider the effect on their team before registering.

Why can't you tell me my player's schedule when we register?
The reason that we don't have the schedule yet is the following:
- For 10U and above, we balance teams.
- We need to know who is playing in order to balance the teams.
- We can't form teams until registration closes on 6/30.
- Therefore we can't balance teams until we have closed registration.
- Once the teams are formed, volunteer coaches are assigned to the teams.
- Once a coach has a team, they choose a practice slot.
- Then the coach emails parents with the practice slot.
- Game schedules are formed once teams are formed. All games are on Saturdays.
